Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic
Creating Accessible Support to Pelvic Pain Patients
What is the Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic?
The Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic is the first of it’s kind in Brisbane, facilitated by Neighbourhood Medical, granting accessible and holistic support to those suffering from pelvic pain.
This activity is supported by funding from Brisbane North PHN through the Australian Government’s PHN Program.
As a patient, the clinic aims to help you in the following ways:
- Provide a working diagnosis and explanation of your symptoms
- Prioritise your access, education and empowerment
- Ensure your care is holistic, individualised and person centred
- Improve your quality of life (we know living with pain is very difficult)
- Utilise evidence based treatments and a collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team
- Be trauma informed and inclusive
- Contribute to research into endometriosis and pelvic pain
What part does The Healthy Peach Physio play?
The Healthy Peach Physio provides pelvic physiotherapy services for the south-east Queensland pelvic pain clinic.
This specialised service includes our three week pelvic pain workshop which is aimed at better understanding your symptoms of pelvic pain and how to better manage them with a stack of practical techniques for you to use at home.
It also includes personal consultation with a pelvic physiotherapist specialised in treating persistent pelvic pain, to become an invaluable part of your supportive health care team. This appointment can be delivered via tele-health if preferable.
How do I access the Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic?
Access to the Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic, including the physiotherapy services, must be gained through a referral to Neighbourhood Medical. There are a few easy options available to you for this!
You can refer yourself to the endometriosis and pelvic pain clinic directly through Neighbourhood Medical.
Your GP can also refer you to this clinic by sending a referral letter via Medical Objects to Neighbourhood Medical Pelvic Pain Clinic. Please make an appointment with your regular GP if you want to avail of this option – it can also be useful to ask for an up to date health summary with all your diagnoses and a list of medications.
Importantly, there are a few eligibility & exclusion criteria to participation in the Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic. We recommend reading the information here to discover if the clinic is the right fit for you.
Access to the Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic starts with a referral through Neighbourhood Medical
Referrals
Medical professionals are also very welcome to refer an eligible patient to the Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic. The patient does not require a pre-existing diagnosis of endometriosis to attend the clinic, but must have either pelvic pain or other symptoms that may be due to endometriosis.
A referral letter can be sent via Medical Objects to Neighbourhood Medical Pelvic Pain Clinic. The service may include access to the pain program and/or individual session.
